Novalight Scenery HTI 1200 Units

Truly Spectacular units from La Novalight!  There are the HUGE Scenery units that feature a central HTI 1200 SE Arc Lamp producing a ton of light.  The light is focused in a central hub where it is concentrated into 8 sharp beams.  The beams then hit a custom color change system which contains an arm with 3 very large dichros on it (8 arms total).  This creates the rich colors projected from the unit (Magenta, Green & Blue).  Each arm has a super high quality Micro Motor that moves the dichro into position to project a color (or white if no dichro is in position).  If blackout is desired there is a douser on each aperture that is powered from more Micro Motors (8 total).

The units can run independently (sound active - internal microphone), linked for master slave operation (via 15 pin data cable) or by external control.  External control can be from dedicated controller (Control Box 2 or Controller - 9), 0 - 10 volt analogue or DMX 512.  The DMX was an option when purchasing these units and I am happy these came included.  The DMX module can be removed and used on other Novalight units where DMX was an option.

When these are running you can pull up the awesome internal programs that create a symphony of colors, chasing beams from side to side and multiple patterns using combinations of colors and the dousers.  You can also run them manually pulling up the colors and individual douser for your own programs.  The units can be utilized as scenic, saturation or high intensity special effect fixtures.

These units are very large in size (845mm (33in) x 625mm (25in) x 311mm (12in) and weight 38kg (84lbs).  Dual cooling fans are needed for these as the powerful lamp produces a ton of heat.  I was lucky to get these units with custom road cases so transport is easy.  Awesome units made in Italy.

Kreluz Triton 2 UFO Units

Awesome units from Kreluz! These are the Triton 2 UFO units.  Each unit has a central saucer containing 20 Philips 4416 12 volt, 30 watt sealed beam par 36 bulbs. The bulbs are wired into 2 separate circuits.  Circuit 1 is the 10 bulbs on the perimeter and circuit 2 is the bulbs on the top and bottom of the saucer (5 on top and 5 on bottom).  All of the bulbs are wired in series (12 volt to make the 110 / 120 volts needed per circuit) and each lamp has an LED fault indicator.  With 20 lamps this makes tracking down a faulty bulb super easy.  If a lamp goes out the LED illuminates showing the problematic lamp.  Otherwise you would have to pull each bulb and test until the faulty one is discovered.  The saucer rotates in 2 separate directions (spin and tumble).  The side tumble motor is a high quality 20 RPM Crouzet 120 volt geared motor and the spin is variable speed from another high quality Crouzet 24 volt, 60 RPM  D/C motor.  When these units get going they are crazy fast!  All circuits (4 total) are controlled from a dedicated controller.  The controller has 2 separate switches for the lamps, 1 switch for the side A/C motor and a knob to adjust the 24 volt DC motor.  Great feature it that the fuses are located on the front of the controller so if there is a fuse issue then the blown fuse can be pulled easily.  Awesome units made in Spain!

Griven Shark Unit

Great classic unit from Griven!  This is the Shark unit that features 2 x 36 volt, 400 watt EVD capsule lamps that move up and down inside of the chassis.  As the bulbs move up and down through 5 different colored dichoric strips of glass.  The lamps are side by side and one is mounted higher than the other.  This causes different colored beams to come out of the unit at different times and since the glass is dichoric the colors as the beams move by the colors change even more (due to dichoic glass changing as it is rotated).  Unit is built incredibly well and weighs a ton.  This is due to the huge transformer in the rear for the dual lamps and thick steel construction.  Movement is powered from a standard Italian Micro Motor and sound active is triggered from an on board PCB and microphone.  Great unit made in Italy.
