Superstar Lighting ME9800-1 Diablo Lighting Effect Units

Great units from Superstar Lighting.  These are the ME9800-1 Diablo UFO / saucer units.  Both units feature a common 120 volt, 300 watt 64514 halogen lamp located in the center of the saucer head.  The whole saucer rotates from the base unit.  The output is 8 large round multi-color beams rotating in a circle formation.  Very cool looking in fog.  I plan to add an additional motor to the top of each unit for additional rotation.  The motor source is 12 volts DC so that is why there is a small transformer and rectifier circuit in the compartment where the motor is located.  Great units made in Taiwan. 

Superstar Lighting SL-P5W-1

Great unit from Superstar Lighting.  This is the SL-P5W-1 unit that is similar to the PSL Randomscan unit.  This is a bit more primitive and lower power.  The fixture has 4 X 12 volt, 50 watt MR16 units that can be used with or without gobos to produce the beam effect. The light shoots through the gobo, then through a color filter and lens assembly then finally onto a rotating mirror assembly.  Each of the 4 mirrors are sound active so when the beat of the music is heard by the unit the mirror motors respond with rotation.  Great unit made in Taiwan.

VEI / Superstar Lighting Go Bot (Single Version)

Classic 90's lighting effect unit. This is the VEI / Superstar Lighting Go-Bot lighting unit. Imported by VEI here in the US, but the unit is actually made by Superstar lighting. Unit features dual 24 volt, 250 watt ELC lamps that are fan cooled at the rear of the unit. The lamps project through a constantly rotating gobo wheel then through a set of convex lenses. Once through the lenses the light reflects off of a sound active rotating dichoric dish producing a very cool light show. There is a larger unit named the Double Go-Bot which basically puts 2 of these fixtures into a shared chassis and work from a single PCB so the beams move at the same time.  Fixture is made in Taiwan. 

VEI / Superstar Lighting V-2000 Aquasplash II Unit

This is a very cool version of the common water simulator projection unit.  Inside of the unit is a common 24 volt, 250 watt ELC lamp that projects through a constantly rotating piece of perforated steel then through a piece of textured / pitted glass to make the 'rippling' water effect.  Next it goes through a convex lens to get focused then out of the unit and onto a slow moving dichoric dish.  The final produce is a slow moving - swirling shimmering effect.  Very psychedelic!  VEI also made an Aquasplash I, but it did not include the rotating dichoric dish.  Unit uses 3 motors: 1 for the rotating dichoric dish, 1 for the perforated metal rotation and 1 for the cooling fan.  Great unit made in China.
