Novalight Galaxy Unit

Super awesome unit from Novalight.  This is the Galaxy centerpiece unit which features a central 100 volt, 575 watt discharge lamp in the center.  Around the center is a dichoric carousel containing 4 different colored dichoric glass pieces.  This is what make the beams have their special colors.  The carousel rotates making different colored beams project from the 8 apertures.  There are 8 separate convex lenses that focus the beams from the light source then project them onto 8 arms with motors.  The motors make an expending / contracting effect with the beams and will also project them onto the special reflective dishes in the center of the unit.  When the light hits the internal reflectors it makes a ton of beams that shoot out in all directions.  The reflective dishes rotate making an even more spectacular effect. 

What is unique about this lighting unit and other Novalight fixtures is that is has potentiometers on the arm mirrors.  This lets the unit know at what position the mirrors are currently at.  Similar to a talk back feature.  This makes the unit very precise for the movement.  The bad part is that if they get out of alignment setting them back to normal can be challenging.  All motors on this unit are the super high quality Micro Motors of Italy.  The unit comes with a dedicated super simple controller but can run without it.  Up to 8 units can be linked together to make a synchronized light show.  Great unit made in Italy.       

  

Novalight Scenery HTI 1200 Units

Truly Spectacular units from La Novalight!  There are the HUGE Scenery units that feature a central HTI 1200 SE Arc Lamp producing a ton of light.  The light is focused in a central hub where it is concentrated into 8 sharp beams.  The beams then hit a custom color change system which contains an arm with 3 very large dichros on it (8 arms total).  This creates the rich colors projected from the unit (Magenta, Green & Blue).  Each arm has a super high quality Micro Motor that moves the dichro into position to project a color (or white if no dichro is in position).  If blackout is desired there is a douser on each aperture that is powered from more Micro Motors (8 total).

The units can run independently (sound active - internal microphone), linked for master slave operation (via 15 pin data cable) or by external control.  External control can be from dedicated controller (Control Box 2 or Controller - 9), 0 - 10 volt analogue or DMX 512.  The DMX was an option when purchasing these units and I am happy these came included.  The DMX module can be removed and used on other Novalight units where DMX was an option.

When these are running you can pull up the awesome internal programs that create a symphony of colors, chasing beams from side to side and multiple patterns using combinations of colors and the dousers.  You can also run them manually pulling up the colors and individual douser for your own programs.  The units can be utilized as scenic, saturation or high intensity special effect fixtures.

These units are very large in size (845mm (33in) x 625mm (25in) x 311mm (12in) and weight 38kg (84lbs).  Dual cooling fans are needed for these as the powerful lamp produces a ton of heat.  I was lucky to get these units with custom road cases so transport is easy.  Awesome units made in Italy.
