Obvious f/x (Meteor) Pirata

Another great unit from Obvious f/x!  This is the Pirata unit which features a single 120 volt, 250 watt ENH lamp located in a housing with fan cooling.  The light projects from the bulb then through a convex lens for focusing.  From the lens onto a sound active rotating dichoric prism.  The prism has mirrored pieces behind it creating crisscrossing beams of multi-colored beams projection out of the unit.  Great unit made in the US!  

f.a.l. Lunar 38 Cosmos Ball PF 086

The absolute king of the Cosmos Ball units!  This is the Lunar - 38 unit from f.a.l.  It features 38 X 6 volt, 30 watt GE 4515 lamps wired into 2 separate series / parallel circuits.  Each consists of 19 on each side of the ball in series.  Thank goodness this unit has the dedicated neon fault indicator lamps for each bulb as testing each lamp would be a terrible task!  Each of the motor circuits are separate as well as the lamps (3 circuits total) for better control of the unit.  The unit also features the super high quality E.L.P. motors for dependable operation.  The only other unit that i know is this big is the Lampo version which also features 38 lamps.  Great unit made in Italy!  

Starlight 12 Lamp Harvesters

Some great units from Starlight.  These are 12 lamp harvester units which feature (12) 6 volt, 30 watt GE 4515 lamps mounted 90 degrees from each other on a common axis.  These units feature the LED lamp indicators which are common on Starlight units instead of the traditional neon indicators.  The lamps have an external transformer to drop the voltage to 70 volts AC.  The units were originally set for 240 volt operation as they were shipped from the UK to the US.  I am switching out the lamps to 12 volt bulbs to eliminate the external transformer.  The motor will not be changed but rather a simple step up transformer will be added for operation.  Great units built solid!

     

Meteor Multiray Units

Some classic projectors from Meteor!  These are the Multiray units.  Each unit originally featured an 82 volt, 250 watt lamp but the lamps are no longer produced.  These will be converted to line voltage 120 volt, 150 watt FEC lamps.  The large diode on the rear of the unit will be removed as the voltage will no longer have to be reduced.  The light bounces off of the rear dichoric colored dish and then out of the front focusing convex lens making a bunch of small colored beams.  The units are static projectors which means there is no movement – these look great in fog on a chaser.  I am looking for a 4^th unit so if anyone happens to have one they would like to part with please contact me.  Units made here in the US!
