American DJ Majestic

Video of American DJ Majestic

I've never seen one of these before! This is an American DJ Majestic. American DJ currently sells another model named Majestic, but it is LED and not even close to this model.  I believe this is made by Light Engineering (UK) but not 100%.  It does have a PCB made by Ryger Lighting UK so I think it is.   Unit uses a EHJ 24 volt, 250 watt lamp that has a rotating dichoric mirror dish and front magenta dichoric glass that rotate to the beat of the music via an internal microphone. Similar to the Martin Magic Moon, but adds the front rotating piece of dichoric glass instead of a rotating dichoric prism. Unit made in England.

VEI - Superstar Lighting MF-394 Rainbow Light

Video of the VEI (Superstar Lighting) MF-394 Rainbow Lighting Effect

It's big, heavy and awesome! This is a VEI MF-394 porcupine style light. Manufactured by Superstar Lighting and sold in the US by VEI. Unit has a ton of multi-colored lenses that are on the front of the unit that emit 2 rotating focused beams out of each one. Unit currently has 2 X 150 watt FCS 64640, 24 volt bulbs installed, but the regular bulbs that the unit take are 2 X 250 watt, 24 volt HLX 64655 bulbs. Unit rotates the 2 bulbs on a large platter making the effect work. Unit is sound active and reacts to the beat of the music as well accepts 0 - 10 volt analogue signal via the 1/4" plug on the rear of the unit. The unit can operate as a static unit, or animated since the sensitivity knob also has a on - off switch built in. Unit made in Taiwan.

American DJ SL-400L "Sonascan"

Simple light that should still be produced if you ask me. This is an American DJ SL-400L a/k/a Sonascan. I picked up a couple of these lights up from a guy who was ready to send them to the dump! It set me back 5X much more to ship them than what I paid for the units. Unit has (4) 6 volt, 30 watt 4515 lamps that project onto 4 rotating mirrors. The mirrors are sound active and rotate to the beat of the music. Each mirror rotates the opposite direction that the one next to it. Fixture made in Taiwan.

Programmi Sistemi Luce 1500 Watt Strobe

Another awesome Italian light piece. This is a Programmi Sistemi Luce 1500 watt strobe light. Awesome light that puts out a blinding flash of white light. Super high quality and built super strong. Even uses a nice piece of glass on the front of the unit and not plastic like most others. Unit has a used 1500 watt factory bulb. The only issue is that the unit skips a flash once in a while. There is also a microphone on the rear so it can be set to flash to the beat of the music. Light has its own dedicated 0 - 10 volt controller. Unit made in Italy. Unit has been sold!!

American DJ Tempest 250

I acquired these 2 lights in a deal I did a while ago. They currently are not working, but hopefully in time they will be operational. One PCB is having issues and the other unit's PCB is missing. The problem is they are no longer available. If anyone knows where to find replacements shoot me an email. These units are heavy and bulky, but put on a super show when working. The units have a MSD 250 watt arc lamp in the center that emits through a set of 6 small lenses (one for each output) then through a rotating dichroic lens system. From there through another 6 convex lenses then on to mirrors that move and rotating mirrored dishes. Each of the 6 outputs has 2 separate mirrors mounted on motors and a constantly rotating mirror dish. Through the internal programs and DMX control the units output is scanning beams in and out as well as bouncing off of the rotating mirror drums. You must see this unit live in person to appreciate the true beauty of this light. There is a total of 19 stepper motors (1 for the color wheel & 3 for each output) and 3 standard motors for the cooling fans. Unit can be operated through DMX 512, connected to other units through a XLR cable for master/slave operation and run independently. The programs are pre-programmed and are triggered from DMX 512 or through an internal microphone to make it react. This unit, when it was available, came in a few different versions. All were pretty much the same, but used different lamps. They were the MSD 250 (like these), GLC 575, HMI 575, EVD 36V, 400W & Arcsteam 150. Unit made in Taiwan.
