LAMPO Derby Mini Version

Another classic from Lampo!  This is the smallest derby made!!  It is a very small unit in physical size (see the picture with the coffee mug for reference).  Light is emitted from 8 colored lenses located across the front of the unit.  The output is 16 colored sweeping beams of light.  The light source is 2 X 12 volt, 50 watt capsule lamps.  A very cool feature of this unit is that it is fully adjustable through 4 different holes in the bottom of the unit.  You can adjust the sensitivity of the response of the microphone, how much rotation (degrees) the lamps move (45, 90, 180, Etc.), speed of the rotation motor and the frequency that the microphone responds to.  A great piece of lighting history made in Italy.

NESS / DJ USA DJA-44 Nova Power

A classic from NESS / DJ-USA.  This is the model DJA-44 Nova Power Arc Ball unit.  The unit is very similar to the American DJ Sunray S-150D, but has much better components.  The unit features the GE 150 Arcstream (95 volt, 150 watt) 88655 lamp with an Advance ballast, ignitor and capacitor.  The unit takes about a minute and a half to come to full power and looks great once there!  Rotation is around 6 RPM.  Unit made in Taiwan.

American DJ Ballistic

A very exciting effect from American DJ!  This is the Ballistic unit.  The unit features a very cool combination of movements for an awesome light show.  Located inside the unit are 2 separate mirrored dishes similar the American DJ Full Moon unit.  The dishes are stacked on top of each other with a 24 volt, 250 watt EHJ lamp located right in front of them. The outer (larger) disc has multi-colored dichoric mirrors attached on the perimeter and the inner (smaller) dish has mirrors covering most of the surface.  Depending on the internal program cycle, the 2 dishes rotate opposite directions of each other or 1 dish will rotate while the other remains stationary.  In addition the internal rotations of the dishes, there is a piece of dichoric glass mounted on a motor in the front of the unit.  The dish moves at the same time as the outer colored ring as they are wired together.  The dichoric glass piece (plate) creates a magenta color when light projects through it one direction and royal blue when light projects through it the opposite direction.  When it is sideways, no light passes through the dichoric plate making the colors match what is on the mirrored wheels.  All of the programs are triggered from a microphone at the rear of the unit.  The fixture has 4 motors.  1 for each mirrored dish, 1 for the front dichoric plate and 1 for the cooling fan.  This is a great unit and pretty hard to come by.  Unit made in Taiwan.
