Futurelight Miracle 1200 Unit

   

This is a truly spectacular unit.  Produced from Futurelight (rumor Robe was the original manufacturer) in the late 90's this unit makes a truly unique aerial effect. 

The unit has 2 separate gobo wheels (1 Rotating, 1 Static), separate dichoric color wheel and a super bright 1200 watt HMI discharge to power the unit.  How the unit works is using different static and rotating gobos layered on top of each other an illusion of tunnels and other geometric shapes project from the unit.  A manual focus is located at the front so you can get crisp shapes or more distorted effects if desired. 

Control of the unit is DMX through 1/4" connections on the rear.  A dedicated controller is also available for this unit.  This is the larger Miracle unit as Futurelight also made a 575 discharge version.  Fixture is very heavy and built like a tank!  When running this unit gets very hot and even though it has dual cooling fans the light still has to cool for about 15 min before you can even think of touching it.  Unit made in Germany. 

 

 

 

 

 

Show Pro (NESS) Pulsant

Another unique unit from Show Pro!  This is the Pulsant unit that is a unique combination of a moonflower and Astroraggi style beam effect.  How it works is a stationary dichoric dish is placed in the center of the unit.  A sound active motor with a metal dish attached is placed in front of the dichoric dish.  The metal dish has a bunch of small holes cut into it.  The dish resembles the metal bowl found in Astroraggi style units.  When the dish spins it allows light to reflect off only the mirrors that are not blocked making a rain style effect.   

The light source is a high power GE HTI 150 discharge lamp producing crisp, bright and vibrant beams.  Since it is a discharge bulb it takes a bit to warm up and get to full intensity.  A shutter system is used to black out the unit since striking the lamp repeatedly kills the life of the lamp.  The unit features a dedicated wired remote control that operates the shutters. 

All of the electronics are located at the rear of the unit including the sound trigger for the motion motor; ballast, ignitor and capacitor for the lamp; PCB for the shutter plungers and dual cooling fans for the unit.

The unit is very large and quite rare.  Fixture made in the US.   

Clay Paky Atlas Version 1 (Original Version) Units

Truly awesome lighting effects from Clay Paky.  These are the original Atlas units.  These units use the same large chassis as the classic Marte and Saturno units but are painted black and adds an additional panel for the PCB and raised housing for the high velocity cooling fan.  The newer Atlas units have a completely different chassis design.

These units feature a super bright HMI 575 discharge lamp enclosed in a small douser tube.  How the douser works is by rotating the tube to allow light to emit through the small aperture in the rear of the unit.  The douser rotates slow or fast depending on the speed chosen and can also can move different directions by utilizing a stepper motor mounted to the douser base.  The lamp mounts to a removable plate that transfers the power from the chassis to the lamp.  Sitting on top of the lamp housing is a removable super high velocity German Papst cooling fan for efficient operation.  The fan connects to the unit with 2 banana style electrical connections and standoff fasteners.  This is a simple but effective design for lamp maintenance.  These units have 2 different styles of power connections on the rear.  2 have the older screw terminals with an aluminum cover for connections like the Marte and Saturno units have and 2 have a newer IEC style with removable plug on the rear.   

The output is super bright beams of light that seem to move side to side at different speeds on a 180 degree arc.  Unit can be colored using color gels or dichros.  DMX, Pulsar PMX or 0 - 10 volt Analogue controllable.  220 volt operation and made in Italy.
